Parliament Speaker Dejan Židan met his Austrian counterpart Wolfgang Sobotka for the fourth time this year discussed cooperation between two countries and Western Balkans topics as well as establishment of a mixed expert commission of historians to determine what the nations have in common and what divides them.
“In 2019, we have given a new momentum to the parliamentary relations between Austria and Slovenia,” said President of the Austrian National Council Mr. Sobotka. “This is a clear sign of the more intensive neighborhood dialogue that we have agreed for this year and next.” According to Sobotka, the two countries should agree on chapters of their common past – chapters that connect the two countries and those that separate them.
