One of the largest investments in the region for a new biotechnological junction

Signing the contract officially launched financing of the biotechnological junction of the National Institute of Biology. The 20-million-euro project, which is one of the largest biotechnology investments in the region, will create a new research infrastructure by 2023.

The contract was signed today by the Minister of Education, Science and Sport in charge of current affairs, Jernej Pikalo and the Institute director Matjaž Kuntner.

The biological junction of more than 6,500 square meters to be built in the immediate vicinity of the three faculties in Ljubljana will be a significant gain for the researchers.

It will help strengthen scientific excellence at the international level, the introduction of new biotechnologies, cooperation with the industry and higher education institutions.
