On Thursday, September 19th, the Slovenian government confirmed Marta Kos as the country’s candidate for EU Commissioner.
Deputy Prime Minister Matej Arcon emphasized the importance of Kos being assigned the enlargement and European neighbourhood portfolio, citing Ukraine’s reconstruction and enlargement as one of the Commission’s top priorities.
The Parliamentary Committee for European Union (EU) Affairs expressed a positive opinion on the candidate for European Commissioner, mag. Marti Kos on September 18th, voting 9:5 in favour of issuing its non-binding opinion.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced on Tuesday, September 17th that Marta Kos will be responsible for EU enlargement.
