Brazilian training ship arrives at The Port Of Koper

Brazilian training ship “NE Brasil” is a training vessel of the Brazilian Navy. It was a project developed by the Naval Engineering. Board and built by the Navy Arsenal of Rio de Janeiro, both Brazilian Navy bodies. After a year and a half of negotiations, the NE Brasil will finally be moored at the port of Koper, Slovenia, from September 5 to 8, 2019.

The visit to the Slovenian port is part of the “33rd Marine Guard Instruction Trip”, which has the purpose of complementing the knowledge acquired by future officers of the Navy, improve the cultural training of the military body and represent the country in the various ports around the world, promoting closer official ties with friendly nations. It is considered to be a milestone in the bilateral level between Brazil and Slovenia, and an important step on the strengthening of the links in the defense field. Its construction began in September 1981 and in September 23, 1983. the ship was launched into the sea and was incorporated into the Brazilian Navy in August 21, 1986. The crew consists of 32 officers, 226 navy seals and 208 marine guards.
