Ministry: Elementary schools to test knowledge, but not evaluate it yet

The Ministry of Education sent a circular letter to elementary schools yesterday that includes a document with recommendations for evaluation and testing the knowledge during online learning. The ministry called the elementary schools to test their students’ knowledge already in April, but not yet evaluate it this month.

In a document prepared by the Education Institute, the ministry recommends that teachers check their students’ knowledge with oral and written answers, practical products, project work and student presentations.

However, the Ministry intends to prepare amendments to the regulations by the second half of April, which should regulate the knowledge evaluation slightly differently than so far. They should determine the new admissible evaluation methods, the number of marks required and the method of making a final grade as the evaluation method should be adapted to online learning.
