Slovenian government has issued a decree banning passenger flights in Slovenia as of 12pm on Monday because of the spread of the new coronavirus. Air traffic will be suspended throughout the EU by the end of the month, while flight connections with non-EU members are suspended until further notice. The ban applies only to passenger flights.
The Ministry of Infrastructure explained that the ban does not apply to aircrafts engaged in international scheduled and special air carriage of goods or mail, and to aircrafts carrying out international special air services without transporting passengers on flights to their base or for maintenance.
Individual flights by foreign national aircrafts or helicopters are also exempted if their intent are humanitarian and medical flights.
Other exemptions may be granted by Slovenian ministries of infrastructure and foreign affairs.
