Prime Minister Marjan Šarec said that his country could be interested in the post of European Enlargement Commissioner in the new European Commission. “We have said on several occasions that we are familiar with the Western Balkans and can contribute in that regard,” said Šarec.
He said that Slovenia expected the Commission to become more active with regard of enlargement to the Western Balkans.
Speaking of the last EU summit at which agreement was reached on the distribution of key posts in European institutions, Šarec said that it was about reaching a compromise on potential candidates.
“At this moment, I think the solution that has been agreed on is optimal,” said Šarec.
