Prime Minister Marjan Šarec will pay his first official visit to Serbia on 27 August, when he is scheduled to meet his Serbian counterpart Ana Brnabić, as well as President Aleksandar Vučić and Speaker Maja Gojković. The two countries have intensive bilateral relations, with Slovenia being one of the major investors in Serbia.
Last year’s bilateral trade increased by around 14%, with Slovenia’s exports standing at EUR 900 million and Serbia’s at EUR 600 million. Slovenia’s investments in Serbia topped one billion euro, whereas Serbia’s invested around EUR 200 million in Slovenia.
As a strong supporter of EU enlargement towards the Western Balkans, Slovenia supports Serbia’s EU integration.
