To commemorate the anniversary of Romania National Day, otherwise known as Great Union Day, the Romanian ambassador to Slovenia H.E. Anton Niculescu hosted a reception at InterContinental Hotel Ljubljana. The reception was attended by Slovenian officials and representatives, members of the diplomatic corps and the Romanian community in Slovenia, as well as business leaders, public figures and representatives of religious communities.
This country’s national day commemorates the date of 1st December 1918, when Romania achieved national unification. Ambassador Niculescu, highlighted the strong and very good relations between Romania and Slovenia.
„As likeminded states, EU member states and NATO allies, Slovenia and Romania share many priorities: supporting European and trans-Atlantic integration of Western Balkan countries, promoting human rights, respect for international law, and many others, “ Ambassador pointed out.
He stressed that the very positive trend of economic cooperation between two counties. “The bilateral trade will exceed 1.2 billion euro this year. Social, cultural, and educational ties between our peoples remain steadfast and constantly spreading to new areas of collaboration, “said H.E.
The traditional award of Romanian Embassy this year goes to dr. Alexandru Mincu, former professor at Bled School of Management.
