On March 26th 2024, Slovenia played a friendly football match against Portugal and won 2:0.
This match created a lot of interest both in the Slovenian media and the general public and many Cristiano Ronaldo’s fans gathered at Brnik airport and in front of Grand Plaza Hotel in Ljubljana with the attention of seeing the famous Portuguese, taking photos and videos and making the unforgettable memories of this Euro 2024 friendly game.
One fan story in particular created a lot of side attentions, alongside with the huge visibility and popularity of this football match for which the tickets were sold out, according to STA news agency, in just four minutes and the price on the black market was up to 500 euros. More than 16,000 spectators watched the match at the Stožice stadium.
Once known just as Janez Kozelj, a Slovenian ski instructor is now also known as the man who managed to run in to the football field in the middle of the game and to take a selfie with Cristiano Ronaldo and even kiss the famous football player on the cheek before security guards noticed him.
