The Chinese Embassy in Slovenia Hosts Reception to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China
On September 26, 2024, the Chinese Embassy in Slovenia held a reception in Ljubljana to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Nearly 300 distinguished guests attended, including friendly representatives from various sectors such as politics, business, academia, and the military in Slovenia, as well as representatives from Chinese enterprises and the Chinese community.
Chinese Ambassador to Slovenia H.E. Mr. WANG Shunqing delivered a speech, highlighting China’s development achievements over the past 75 years and emphasized that China has always been a firm pursuer of peace. He also noted the long-standing friendship between China and Slovenia, stating that the relationship between the two countries has now entered a stable and mature stage, with fruitful cooperation in various fields.
At the reception, three Slovenian musicians performed heartfelt renditions of traditional pieces from both China and Slovenia, including “Jasmine Flower,” “Horse Racing,” and “On the lake near Triglav.” A documentary about the China-Slovenia Friendship Monument was also screened, reviewing the legendary story of Slovenian astronomer Ferdinand Augustin Hallerstein (whose Chinese name LIU Songling, 1703–1774) and his connection with China.
