Slovenia’s economy will expand by 3.4% in 2019, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Tuesday, affirming its forecast made in October.
Slovenia’s economic growth is projected to slow down to 2.8% in 2020, the IMF said in the April edition of its World Economic Outlook report.
According to the global lender, Slovenia’s economy grew by 4.5% in 2018. Slovenia’s average annual inflation is seen at 1.4% this year and 1.6% in 2020, compared to 1.7% inflation in 2018.
In October, the IMF projected that the country’s consumer prices will rise by 2.0% in 2019.
The country’s current account balance is seen posting a surplus of 4.4% of GDP in 2019 and 3.4% next year, the IMF said. Slovenia ended 2018 with a current account surplus of 6.5% of GDP.
Slovenia’s unemployment rate is seen falling to 4.8% this year from 5.3% in 2018. The unemployment rate is set at 4.9% in 2020.
