Three Seas Initiative Summit And Business Forum

Slovenian president Borut Pahor will host the fourth Three Seas Initiative Summit on 5 and 6 June 2019 in Ljubljana and Brdo pri Kranju.

There have been three presidential-level summit meetings so far: Dubrovnik in August 2016, Warsaw  [2] in July 2017 and Bucharest in September 2018.

The Three Seas Initiative is an informal presidential forum involving 12 European Union Member States. The countries of Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia are all located in Central and Eastern Europe, and between the Adriatic, the Baltic and
the Black seas.

The aim of the Initiative is to further regional dialogue and connect countries along the North-South axis by promoting investments in the economy, transport links, energy infrastructure and digital communications.

A business forum organised jointly by the Slovenian government, the Centre for European Perspective and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia will be taking place alongside the Presidents’ Summit. The forum will focus on four key areas: energy, transport, digital transformation and innovation. Cutting across these will be topics relating to transatlantic relations, security and water. Slovenia is striving for an inclusive initiative that supports a united Europe and close transatlantic cooperation that addresses strategic investment projects in the region.
