Disco Revival Party Lights Up Rotarians and Friends for Charity
The groovy sounds of the 70s and 80s took center stage on November 19th at Nebo, a popular show restaurant in Ljubljana. The occasion? The third annual Disco Revival Party, a lively charity event organized by the Rotary Club Ljubljana Julija in partnership with Rotary Club Ljubljana Nike and Rotary Club Ljubljana Unity. The evening brought together Rotarians, disco fans, and community members for an unforgettable night of music, dancing, and giving back.
While the dance floor was buzzing to the beats of DJ Hemi, the party’s true purpose was philanthropy. Each year, the event raises funds for a specific cause, chosen by one of the participating Rotary clubs. Previous editions saw Rotary Club Ljubljana Julija renovate the maternity hospital waiting room for expectant parents, while Rotary Club Ljubljana Nike provided support for children displaced by the devastating 2023 floods. Both projects have been successfully completed, making a lasting impact on the community.
This year, Rotary Club Ljubljana Unity led the charge, directing proceeds to the Center za pomoč mladim (CPM). The CPM offers innovative programs to support young people on their journey to adulthood, focusing on personal development, social connection, and resilience. Thanks to the event, over 3.000 eur was raised, enabling the center to provide counseling, soft skills training, and assertiveness workshops for youth in need.
For attendees, the Disco Revival Party was more than just a fundraiser. It was a chance to reconnect with friends, forge new relationships, and indulge in a nostalgic celebration of disco’s golden era. The event’s success is a testament to the power of community and collaboration, marking yet another achievement for the Rotary network.
