Yesterday at the 2019 Summit of the Three Seas Initiative in Ljubljana, 11 presidents of the AmChams have signed their support for a better infrastructure, diversified and secure energy sources and growth of the digital realm. The joint goal of the Initiative is to build a more integrated, prosperous and secure region within a growing Single Market.

The Three Seas Initiative includes the countries located between the Adriatic, the Baltic and the Black Seas: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

The American Chambers of Commerce in these countries stand ready to provide facilitation to clearly define the roles of the key stakeholders, provide the know-how and bring together business, governments and the capital, to fully deliver such cross-border projects in the fields of technology, trade, transport, energy, digital market and cyber-security.

Nevenka Kržan, President of AmCham Slovenia, said: “I am pleased that at AmCham Slovenia as well as our colleagues from the region, we are aware that it is of key importance that the business communities act as the voice of companies and especially people, who care for the good of their respective countries. Better and closer cooperation is the assurance of business opportunities, as well as the quality of life, peace and security “.

Ajša Vodnik, CEO of AmCham Slovenia and vice president of AmChams in Europe, added: “Slovenia, as the headquarters of AmChams in 43 countries, can play an important role of connecting. Thus, the signing of a joint declaration of support by 11 countries is a good example of how we can participate, both regionally and at the European level. In this mandate, AmCham Slovenia has set itself the goal of spreading optimism and opportunities throughout Europe, and such actions are an important step towards achieving our goal“.
