The Ljubljana City Council said ‘yes’ to a draft order on municipal waste collection, with several concerns being heard from the opposition.
The Council of Independent Councillors even wanted to remove the matter from the agenda, as they found the draft order too ambiguous, but Mayor Zoran Janković pointed out that the purpose of the draft was to supplement it with comments before the order is actually formed.
According to City Councillor Asta Vrečko, The Left party was disturbed by an article, which forbids going through municipal waste containers and taking disposed bulky waste from collection points. The fine would be 400 euros.
Mayor Zoran Janković said after the discussion that he finds most of the comments justified, and that the debate was correct.
