The Trade Union of Police Officers of Slovenia strongly condemns unjustified and malicious attempts to discredit individual police officers, who – due to their professional work – have clearly encroached on particular areas of interest and are now being a target in the media.
They wrote that police should not be dependent on the current political will, political competition and reckless interference with their work. The police is, first and foremost, a guarantor of the stability and orderliness of the country and a strong support for citizens even when all other institutions fail, they stated.
The attempts to discredit are also condemned by the Police Trade Union. As they have noted, they have noticed in recent days a burning desire to abuse the police and its members for narrow political and other personal interests.
