Statement for self-employed to claim state help available in eTaxes

Self-employed persons that will be helped by the state due to the new coronavirus epidemic by being exempted from paying social security contributions and receiving a monthly basic income, may already file a statement with the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia. The first payments are expected on 25 April.

Those who have suffered at least a 25% reduction in revenues in March compared to February or at least 50% in April or May compared to February may apply for state help. If their revenues are more than a fifth higher in first six months of 2020 than in the same period last year, and more than a fifth higher in second six months in 2020 than in the same period last year, they will have to repay the assistance.

All the eligible will receive a basic income of 350 euros for March and 700 euros for April and May. The same assistance is provided for farmers and religious employees.

However, in order to be able receive the help, they must submit a statement through the Financial Administration information system stating that they are unable to carry out their activities or are carrying them out in a significantly reduced extent due to the epidemic of the new coronavirus.

The statement is ready and can only be submitted via eTaxes (slov. eDavki), either via a PC or a mobile phone app. This must be done by 31 May at the latest.

The monthly basic income will be paid by the Financial Administration, the first payment for those submitting the statement by 18 April is scheduled for 25 April. The condition is that the beneficiary has been in business at least since 13 March until the law enters into force and is not a tax debtor.
