Logar denied that the Government’s response to the Council of Europe was a dispatch

Slovenian foreign minister Anže Logar said at a joint session of parliamentary committees on foreign policy and culture that the Government’s response to the Council of Europe – regarding press reports on pressure on the media in Slovenia – was not a dispatch.

He also wondered what was untrue in the text. On behalf of the proponents of the session, the foreign policy committee president Matjaž Nemec said that the Government’s response was a unilateral political pamphlet.

Nemec said the letter, which was prepared at the Government Communication Office and sent to the Council of Europe by the Foreign Ministry, aimed at domestic political altercation and represents a new attack on journalists.

Logar said he was obviously invited to the session by mistake, saying that he had practically nothing to do with the response to the Council of Europe. He explained to the MPs that the Government’s response was not a dispatch. An allegation that it is a dispatch is a lie, there is no Logar’s dispatch, it does not exist, he claimed.
