Towards the Weekend 2024:
The new names of this year’s program are presented, guaranteeing the biggest Weekend so far
The author of the hit book “Surrounded by idiots”, “Modern psychologist” and the legendary DJs are coming to Rovinj
June 26, 2024 – The traditional gathering to introduce the September edition of the Weekend Media Festival was held on June 25th at Vidikovac in Park Maksimir. In addition to good entertainment and quality networking, new lecturers and panellists were presented at the event and many famous names such as: Antonija Blaće, Zoran Šprajc, Mia Kovačić, Andrija Jarak, Damir Kedžo i Andree Andrassy had the opportunity to hear firsthand what awaits us at Weekend.17 festival.
From September 19th to 22nd 2024, under the general patronage of the Adris Group, Weekend will once again be the central gathering place for regional professionals from the world of media, communications and business. After the great success of the first edition, HR.Weekend returns to Rovinj in an even bigger and more numerous edition. The big news is the first AI Weekend, a festival that will gather everyone who wants to learn more about the application of artificial intelligence in business. Lecturer and writer Thomas Erikson, author of the hit book “Surrounded by Idiots”, one of the key names of this year’s Weekend.17 program, will clarify the doubts of the audience about communication and how to cooperate effectively in the business and private environment.
Ali Fenwick the star of social networks better known as the “Modern Psychologist” who is followed by millions of people and the author of the bestseller “Red Flags, Green Flags”, will introduce the topic of humanization of artificial intelligence to the audience in Rovinj. Fenwick advocates that instead of increasing productivity, efficiency and reducing costs, we should focus on the human factor in the artificial intelligence equation. The humanization of artificial intelligence can improve our business in the long term, making us the preferred choice for both customers and employees.

The famous director, actor and screenwriter Dragan Bjelogrlić will talk about the domestic film scene, and Andrija Jarak, editor of the Dosjei Jarak show, will introduce us to the theme of the crime series.

The connection between the brain and technology will be the topic of dr Tarek Samada, an internationally recognized neuroscientist, also known as “Doctor Brain”, while Micael Dahlen, professor of happiness, will speak to us about happiness.

Pete Radovich will take us behind the scenes of the Super Bowl, the biggest media spectacle in the world, and Ida Pandur will return to the topic that was talked about at the Weekend in 2021, through the lecture Resurrection Web 3.0. In the opposite corners will be Dimitrije Trbović and Juraj Šebalj, discussing the paradigm of the relationship between cars powered by electricity and fossil fuels, and there is also a famous American journalist and critic Bob Garfield who will explain the situation we all (the media) are right now.
But that’s not all!
Apart from the already announced festivals AI Weekend and HR.Weekend, this year’s Weekend Media Festival also expands its horizons to the field of finance, so on Saturday, in cooperation with the Croatian software company Farseer, the Finance Weekend Track will be held. This new addition to the festival program brings in-depth discussions on the latest trends, innovations and challenges shaping the financial sector. With a rich program, Finance Weekend Track will gather key players of the financial scene, including Luis A. Sec, director of RiskLab from Toronto, Boris Vujčić, governor of the Croatian National Bank, Zoran Stanković, CFO of Atlantic Grupa, Matija Kovačević, CFO of Hrvatski Telekom, Matija Nakić, CEO and co-founder of Farseer, and many others.
But when the hall lights are turned off, the fun and socializing continue at the best parties, and the first announced name will surely bring the Old Tobacco Factory to its feet with its beats. As cherry on the top of a cake, the world-famous Dutch DJ with a successful career in house music – Fedde Le Grand, is coming to celebrate the 15th birthday of CineStar Channels. The event in Zagreb on June 25th was just a hint of what awaits us in Rovinj and already the first announced names guarantee an unforgettable weekend in September in Rovinj.
