On Monday, June 3rd , 2024, the well-known Zvezda celebrated its 25th anniversary. A quarter of a century of existence was celebrated in a cafe on Kongresni trg, only a step away from the original location of opening of its first cafe in the heart of urban inspiration – Zvezda park.
25 years ago, the owner and founder of Zvezda, Urška Šefman Sojer decided to establish this successful sweet business without detailed plans, strategies and previous formal catering experience. She had a great desire to make people happy, to offer them a feeling of comfort and home in Ljubljana, wrapped in a classic, but always modern aesthetic experience of a café social. Zvezda has thus become a place where guests are happy to return and enjoy innovative sweet treats. Urška devoted her entire career to creating desserts and interiors of all Zvezda cafés, for which she got the prestigious Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award in 2017, presented by the prestigious French brand and given to successful business women with unwavering vision and boldness.
Urska’s desire and ambitions originate from early childhood, when she, in her mother’s closet, noticed a set of beautiful chinaware that had never been used. That’s when she decided that she will change Sunday family breakfasts forever. Every Sunday she got up early, prepared the place settings and placed on the table that famous unused china with which she conjured up an unforgettable experience.
According to Urska’s words, the recipe for success is not just a strong desire. She also spoke about the great importance of her colleagues – a team she considers part of his family, because without them there would be no Zvezda which would glow as long and as brightly as it glows today. Urška’s daughter Triša has been actively accompanying Urška on this exciting business way since childhood and Triša shares more than just a passion for management and creation – she wants Zvezda to expand internationally as well, as she believes that Zvezda would also be recognised in other countries thanks to the very good quality of Zvezda’s products.
At the event on June 3rd Urška and Triša first welcomed the media and influencers and gave a short introduction about the background of Zvezda’s story. The present guests had the exclusive opportunity to taste the delicious sweets of various types and flavors and, among other things, to taste the original traditional recipe for the Slovenian desserts – the famous kremšnite. After blowing out the candles on the cake, the fun continued and Zvezda’s business partners joined the celebration in the second part of the gathering.
The event organized on the occasion of Zvezda’s 25th anniversary, was concluded with excellent food and drinks and guests left with unforgettable memories.
